Parish Announcements – week of November 5th, 2023 (The Feast of All Saints’ – Transferred: All Saints’ Sunday)

Welcome to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church—we’re very glad you’re here!

Today, Sunday, November 5th, we are celebrating the Principal Feast of All Saints. As part of our service on that day we will remember all the faithful departed of our parish at the altar; if you were not able to fill out a form for remembering a loved one, please know you may do so verbally during the service at the invitation.

FROM OUR FRIENDS AT TRINITY CHURCH (DOWNTOWN FORT WAYNE), RON AND LINDA BUSKIRK:

Delicious, organic, certified extra virgin, fair trade, Palestinian olive oil is again available for purchase for holiday gift-giving or your own pantry. Olive Branch Olive Oil is a non-profit project established to aid Palestinian olive farmers by creating a market for their oil. Each 500 ml bottle sells for $16.00 – an inexpensive price for this quality oil pressed by West Bank farmers shortly after harvesting in their olive orchards.

And there’s more!  This year Palestinian Medjoul Dates are available from the latest harvest, supporting Palestinian date farmers.  The price of a 1-pound box is $14.00. They’re plump, sweet, and quite delicious!  A portion of the sales of both the oil and the dates will be donated to Trinity’s Outreach Ministry.

To order, contact Ron Buskirk by November 19.  Ronald_Buskirk@frontier.com, or 260-413-1953.  Orders will be delivered for pick up at St. Alban’s in early December.

Envelopes for Thanksgiving flowers are in the pew card holders today.  You may contribute any amount for these flowers.

Please note whether you would like the flowers in thanksgiving for an important event in your life or in memory of a loved one.

Envelopes must be received by November 12th to have information listed in the bulletin and flowers ordered.

Our annual Thanksgiving Eve Eucharist will take place here at St. Alban’s at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22nd. Please join us for this special service.

A special thank-you to George Shamp and Robbie Frede for installing some new outside lighting on our building; these lights are high up and were not the easiest to work with so we appreciate the work and the risk! God Bless!

If you are able, please review the sign-up sheets in the Parish Hall for future openings for Coffee Hour sponsors and hosts and consider signing up for a Sunday; this makes our post-service fellowship very festive and delicious and we appreciate any and all help in this area!

Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall – come join us on Wednesdays as we tackle the Book of Isaiah. Our Bible Study is always followed by a celebration of the Eucharist. ALL ARE WELCOME!!

The evening Bible Study and Eucharist that takes place on Thursdays in the Parish Hall at 6:30 p.m. is currently engaged in reading the Letter to the Hebrews. All are welcome!

FYI: Fr. Michael’s regular office hours are Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and any other time by appointment. Monday is his regular day off.

Peace and Blessings
