ANNOUNCEMENTS:

IN SEARCH OF A SEARCH COMMITTEE. Although the announcement of Father Dan
leaving all of us is still new and raw our congregation needs to pull together and lead
Saint Alban’s forward. We need to form a search committee of approximately 8-10
individuals to assist in our effort to call a new priest for the Saint Alban’s/Grace
Collaboration. If you are interested in helping out with this particular ministry please
contact Cindy Spice at either cis6421@comcast.net or 260-348-7061.
Everyone is invited to an open house at the home of Marilyn McClure on Tuesday
December 11 from 1-4. At a time when most of us are feeling overwhelmed with our
busy lives, and considerable stress ,come and enjoy some time of fellowship with your

YOUTH GROUP PLAY PRACTICE will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Sunday, Dec 9.

YOUTH PLAY: Mark your calendars now for our annual Youth Play on Sunday
December 16th at 6:00 p.m. This year’s play is called “Humbug” It is filled with funny
characters that will prove to be inspirational as well as hilarious. We will start off the
evening once again with dinner. This year the youth will be serving homemade beef &
noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans accompanied with a dinner roll and of course lots
of delicious desserts. Then sit back and relax for a fun filled show with our very talented
youth. Tickets will be sold every Sunday up to and including the day of the show. We will
sell after the 8:00 services and before and after the 10:15 services. Prices are $10.00 for
adults, $5.00 for ages 4-10, with 3 and under free. If you have any questions or would
like to help in any way please contact Cindy Spice (348-7061).
CALLING ALL CHILDREN! Christmas will be here before we know it and it's time
to start preparing for the annual ST. ALBAN’S CHRISTMAS PAGEANT held on
Christmas Eve. If your children are interested in being a part of this wonderful pageant,
please plan on joining us on the practice dates listed below. The pageant practices will
be as follows: December 9th, December 16 th , and December 23 rd . All practices will
be held immediately following the 10:15 service and will last approximately 30 minutes. Pageant will be held at the 4:00 pm Christmas Eve service. If there are any
questions, please contact Megan Spice-Frede at 260.515.1888. Thank you.
Beginning Wednesday evening, December 5th, Grace Episcopal Church will again
have its weekly Advent Soup Supper at 6:00 p.m. followed by Holden Evening Prayer
at 7:00 p.m. Holden Evening Prayer is a form of traditional Vespers developed in 1986 at
Holden Village in Chelsea, Washington. This beautiful setting, by Marty Haugen, is easily
sung by the congregation, includes scripture readings and prayers, and the service lasts
about ½ hour. Holden Evening Prayer has been an integral part of Grace’s Lenten and
Advent seasons for many years. We hope you will join us on Wednesdays, 12th, and 19th.
This is the perfect way to pre-pare your hearts and minds for Christmas.
CARE CONNECTION COMMISSION – Please consider sending a Christmas card to those
who are unable to be at church with us; who are living in a nursing home or unable to leave their homes. There is a list with names and addresses in an envelope on the bulletin board.

ADVENT BEGINS TODAY Advent helps us prepare to receive the promised Christ child.  Christ comes at his lowly birth in history, his continual wonderful coming to us in his Word and Sacrament, and his triumphal coming again in the future.  

PRAYER NIGHT we will have a simple prayer service at 5:30 p.m. tonight.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY & FELLOWSHIP will meet this Thursday at 2:00 -4:00 at the home of Marilyn Rafter.

MEN’S NIGHT OUT will be at The Han Dynasty, 6401 W. Jefferson on Thursday, December 6 at 6:30 PM.  The sign up list will be on the bulletin board in the narthex.

A QUIET DAY.  A quiet day for Advent will be here at the church on Saturday December 8th from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.  You can come and go as you please.  There will be a reflection at the beginning of every hour, and suggestions on how to spend your quiet time will be given.  A light supper will be provided at 5:00 pm, so please sign the sign-up sheet if you plan to attend.

The other family has a mother (age 21), adult female (age 45), boy (age 2) and girl (age 1).  Food and miscellaneous items are also furnished, along with a $50.00 gift card to be used for meat, potatoes, bread, and perishables. THANKSGIVING FLOWERS AND DECORATIONS.  Envelopes for Thanksgiving flowers and decorations will be in the pew card holders on the Sundays of November 4, 11. You may contribute any amount for these flowers. Please note whether you would like the flowers in thanksgiving for an important event in your life or in memory of a loved one. Envelopes must be received by November 16 to have information listed in the bulletin.

 PLAYGROUND BUILT!  A huge thank you to the many who helped build the playground last weekend.  It looks great!  The playground is open to any little children who would like to play.  Tell anyone you know who have little children that they are welcome to come and play.
