 PENTECOST IS YOUTH SUNDAY, TODAY MAY 20. This year we will celebrate Pentecost with our youth group leading.  Pentecost as you know is about the coming of the Holy Spirit and celebrating the gifts of the church, and we are always proud of how we see the gifts of God in our youth.”

NEWSLETTER ASSEMBLY is this Friday.

RESCUE MISSION AT 4:30 p.m. this Thursday.

NO WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY THIS WEEK, but will resume on Thursday, June 7th.

 2nd ANNUAL SAINT ALBAN’S GARAGE SALE – Thursday, May 31, Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2nd.  Its garage sale time again.  This year all proceeds will go to the operating fund.  It will be at the Mayer’s house again at 6218 Vance Avenue, Fort Wayne.  All items need to be at The Mayer’s residence no later than Friday, May 25, 2018.  Please do not send items if you want them returned.  Any items not sold will be donated to the Treasure House, a ministry of the Rescue Mission.  Please check item to make sure they are in working condition and that there are no rips, tears or holes.  You may bring items to our house or to the church and we will take them from there.   Start cleaning out your unwanted items so we can build up the operating fund.  Once again, please make sure all items are in good condition.  If you have any questions, please see or call Joyce (260) 450-2874 or contact Phil at (260) 450-3147.  Joyce and Phillip Mayer.

 CARE CONNECTIONS On the bulletin board, in the Narthex, is a signup sheet for those needing a ride to church events.  If you need a ride, please fill in your name, event, address, and phone number.  If you can offer a ride, please contact the person in need.

HEART & HANDS TAKING A BREAK:  The Friday 10-AM meetings will reconvene in late August or early September.  Watch for announcements in the bulletin.

GRADUATING SENIORS.  If you know of someone graduating, then please contact the church office.  We are hoping to acknowledge their accomplishments on the first Sunday in June.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 CLERGY RETREAT will be Monday, May 7 – Wednesday May 9.

 PLEASE KEEP MEGAN SPICE AND ROBBIE FREDE IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS THIS WEEK.  Robbie and Megan are to be married Saturday.

 THERE WILL BE NO ASCENSION SERVICE ON THURSDAY, MAY 10.  Please know that Trinity downtown is having services that evening.  We are more than welcome to attend.

 THE LUNCH BUNCH meets Tuesday, May 8 at Rack & Helen’s Social House, 4935 Hillegas Road.  The time is 12 Noon.  A flyer is on the bulletin board in the narthex where you can sign up and indicate whether you would like to carpool or drive directly to the restaurant.  We especially want to invite new people to join us, too!  Please see Anita Grams at church for more information or you may call her at 449-9682.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 THE CARE CONNECTION COMMISSION COMMITTEE will meet today after coffee hour in the parish hall.  It is our first time meeting this year and we hope many will attend and brain storm ways we can assist one another.

 ENDOWMENT MEETING will be this Monday at 6:00 p.m.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY & FELLOWSHIP will meet this Thursday at 2:00 – 4:00 at the home of Marilyn Rafter.

OUTREACH:  This year’s recipient of the Lenten offerings is Hope for Jesus, from Honduras.  In support of this program we collected $96.00 from Lenten Coin Folders.  Mite boxes contributions is for Erin’s House   with a total of $44.21 collected.    The Good Friday offering, designated for the Episcopal Church in Jerusalem, collected $158.00 from our parish offerings.

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER FOR OUR ROOTS IN ENGLAND CLASS.  I am very excited for our Christian Roots in England class tonight at 6:30 p.m.  We will be blessed to be joined by Sue Wilhelm.  Sue will be presenting about the great Christian Mystic from England, St. Julian of Norwich. Sue is the director of spiritual activities at Victory Noll Retreat Center in Huntington Indiana.  She was my great guide during my process of being trained as a spiritual director. She is one of the most wonderful and spiritual people I know. I hope all may be able to join us.  “All shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.” (Julian of Norwich)
