Saint Alban’s Youth Group Grades 6 to 12
2022 / 2023
God our Father, you see our youth growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. BCP p. 829

Youth Group
Every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month Cindy Spice leads youth group for grades 6 to 12. We begin at  6:30 p.m. and go until approximately 8:00pm. We spend our time talking about what is going on in our lives, current issues, and Christian formation topics. Finally we have a time for games. Youth group is marked by learning and fun. If you need a ride, then please contact Cindy and we will find you one.

Music
We invite any and all youth to participate in the music at Saint Alban’s. If you like to sing or play an instrument, then please talk to Elaine Fazzaro or Father Michael Roeske.

Confirmation classes...
For students in grades 8 and 9, or anyone older who would like to be confirmed, a confirmation class will be scheduled. Dates to be determined when the Bishop’s schedule is known.

Weekly Worship
We encourage all to attend our weekly Sunday worship services at 9:30 a.m. Worship is where much of our education takes place. Youth are encouraged to become servers and crucifers. Each year we have a special Youth Sunday when the Youth of the parish serve as readers and ushers as well. Youth Sunday will be a Sunday in May.

Events
Plans are currently under way for our 2022/ 2023 schedule. Events we have done in the past include a Fall Campout, Christmas Play, Winter retreat, the 30 Hour famine, Summer Youth trip and more. Please keep an eye out for future fun events.

Holy week
Holy Week is the most special week in the Christian Calendar. Holy week starts with Palm Sunday. We often sign up for the prayer watch after Maundy Thursday services. Good Friday morning service is 9 am as this is the time when the scriptures tell us our Lord’s trials began. Stations of the cross are also at noon and 6pm. The Easter Vigil is Saturday evening after dusk. Finally Easter day is a very festive occasion. Please come be a part of as much as you can.
