Welcome to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, we’re very glad you’re here!
QUILT FOR CAMP
We are selling raffle tickets for a Quilt to help support our Diocesan Youth Summer Camp. The quilt was made by Katie Chynoweth, from St. Paul’s in Munster; Katie is Charlie and Grayson Frede’s Godmother and a long-time camp staffer.
The quilt patches were chosen to help reflect this year’s camp theme, Yum! Come Taste & See. The tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. It is important to know that this money is going to help all youth in our Diocese and not just our youth here at St. Alban’s. If you wish to make a donation for St. Alban’s youth alone, please look for the special donation envelopes in your pew. THANK YOU!
The winning ticket will be selected at our closing ceremony for Youth Camp on Saturday June 15th. You do not need to present to win; we will make sure it gets to you if you win. You can purchase tickets through Sunday, June 2nd from Robbie Frede, Megan Spice or Cindy Spice.
Please note: our parish newsletter, “The Cross & Sword,” will re-start in September, but on a quarterly basis going forward. The publication months/dates for the newsletter will be March, June, September and December of each year. This change reflects the changing patterns of how people are receiving information; if this particular change doesn’t work, we’ll try something else!
UPCOMING/MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
St. Alban’s Church will celebrate our “Feast of Title” (aka St. Alban’s Day) on Sunday, June 16th at 10 a.m. with a Eucharist followed by a potluck lunch at the home of Donald and Vicki Irvine. Please see the sign-up sheet on the large bulletin board in the narthex, so you can let us know who’s coming, how many in your party and what you would like to contribute to the feast! It’s always a fun Sunday and it will have been two years since our last “off-site” celebration. Thanks to the Irvines for their hospitality!
Rescue Mission update for June: Team 2, you’re off the hook for the month….due to a scheduling conflict on the part of the Mission—they have double-booked an outside, out-of-town group on June 11th, our assistance is not needed on that day.
Also, due again to scheduling issues in the month, the Lunch Bunch will not meet in June, but will re-convene on Tuesday, July 9th; information about the time and place to follow soon!
