ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

As we mentioned during the Annual Meeting on Sunday, 1/21/19, St. Alban’s has formed a Search Committee to look for a new priest.  Members of the St. Alban’s committee are:  Abbie Gillig, Christina Connelly, Cindy Spice, Dale Edington, Gary Pink, John Lorenzen, Julie Naunas, Laura Birchfield, and Neal Birchfield.  Within the next few weeks members of our search committee will be conducting interviews with various members of St. Alban’s.  Each member will be interviewing 3 individuals to get their ideas on what they are looking for in a priest.  If you would like to be interviewed, please let one of us know, otherwise, team members will be making the interview selections.  To help prepare you for the interviews, we are sharing with you the questions that we will be asking:

 

1. Stability – remaining faithful to the work God is doing in your here and now, rather than pining away for either a misremembered past or an unattainable future.
• How has God been at work among you over the past 2 – 3 years? 
• What characteristics of God’s work here will it be important to preserve in one way or another? 
• In other words, how can St. Alban’s continue to provide you with a spiritual home?

 

2. Obedience – hearing and obeying God’s call to you to engage the Five Marks of Mission as individuals and as a faith community.
• How do you bring this era to a close in a way that honors what it has meant for each of you? 
• How are you opening your hearts to God’s missional call for you as a faith community and as individuals? 
• What kinds of discernment will enable you to distinguish God’s call from other noises around you?

 

3. Conversion of Life – allowing God to transform you through processes of internal and external change.
• What are the spiritual consequences of entering a new era in your life as a faith community? 
• What will you look for in a Rector that would help you address those consequences either as individuals or as groups? 
• In what ways can the wider Episcopal Church in Northern Indiana support you in meeting and adjusting to the consequences of this decision?

Bishop Doug Sparks Visit – February 17 

Bishop Sparks will be the preacher and celebrant at bothservices on February 17. He will also confirm Ani Fazzaro, Claire Irvine, Andrea Pink, and Kenny White. Amanda Fazzaro will be received, and AltaLeeStellhorn and Lewis “Smoky” Stellhorn will reaffirm their faith. Please keep Ani, Claire, Andrea, Kenny, Amanda, AltaLee, and Smoky in your prayers. A special offering will be taken on February 17 for the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund, used to assist with emergency needs in and outside of our diocese.

Youth Group meets today at noon.  

ATTENDANCE for last Sunday was 46.
