UPCOMING/MARK YOUR CALENDARS: 

TOWN HALL MEETING June 21st at 1:00 p.m.

We are holding a town hall meeting to discuss the proposed Marriage Policy for Saint Alban’s. Mark your calendar to attend and participate in the discussion. We would like to hear from everyone before making any changes to our policies. Chat with Cindy Spice if you need more information about the meeting or the proposed policy.

QUILT RAFFLE – we are once again raffling off a handmade quilt at camp to help raise money for the overall cost of camp for the Diocese. All money raised will go directly to the Diocesan Camp Fund to help offset the cost for any camper who needs financial assistance, and not only youth from St. Alban’s. The winning raffle ticket will be pulled during the closing ceremony at camp on Saturday, June 14. Tickets will be sold beginning Sunday May 11, through Sunday, June 1st and are $5 each or 4 for $20. Reach out to Cindy Spice or Megan Spice with any questions. 

CALL TO ACTION! For all St. Alban’s parishioners and friends: Please consider having a garage/yard sale at your home this spring/summer and donating the proceeds to St. Alban’s to help us decrease our budget deficit. 

On Tuesday, 6/10 it will be Team II’s turn to help serve dinner at the Rescue Mission (404 E. Washington Blvd., Fort Wayne) from 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. Team II is: Kenny White, Gary Michael and Gary Pink. Thank you all for your service in this ministry!

The next meeting of “The Lunch Bunch” will take place on Tuesday, 6/17/25 at 12:30 p.m. at City Barbeque (1727 Apple Glen Blvd., Fort Wayne). Please see the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the narthex—of course, ALL ARE WELCOME! 

The “Rose of Sharon” chapter of The Daughters of the King here at St. Alban’s will have its monthly meeting on Thursday, June 12th at 1 p.m. in the Parish Hall. DOK always welcomes inquiries about how to join this wonderful women’s organization in the Episcopal Church that historically emphasizes prayer and service.

If you are able, please review the sign-up sheets in the Parish Hall for future openings for Coffee Hour sponsors and hosts and consider signing up for a Sunday; this makes our post-service fellowship very festive and delicious, and we appreciate any and allhelp in this area!

Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall – come join us on Wednesdays as we read the First Book of Samuel. Our Bible Study is always followed by a celebration of the Eucharist. ALL ARE WELCOME!!

The evening Bible Study and Eucharist that take place on Thursdays in the Parish Hall at 6:30 p.m.is currently engaged in reading the Book of Job. All are welcome! 

FYI: Fr. Michael’s regular office hours are Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and any other time by appointment. Monday is his regular day off.

UPCOMING/MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

The Stations of the Cross will be prayed for the final time this Lent in the church this coming (Good)Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. (a half hour later than has been the case for the past several years).

Easter offering/flower envelopes are in the pews; please consider contributing so that our worshipspace may look its best for this most holy time of year!

Please consider signing up for “The Watch”—that prayerful time between the end the Maundy Thursday liturgy and the beginning of the Good Friday service, where we try to make sure that the reserved Sacrament is not left unattended—a symbol of our staying “awake with Jesus just one hour.” The sign-up sheet is on an easel in the narthex.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

We are in need of candy to fill eggs for the annual Easter Egg Hunt that is held after our Easter Sunday service. We are requesting candy that is individually sealed and small enough to fit into an average plastic egg. If you prefer, you can donate money for us to purchase candy – please make any checks

payable to Saint Alban and put Egg Hunt in the memo line. All candy should be placed on the table in the Youth Group room downstairs no later than today Palm Sunday (April 13th). Reach out to Megan or Cindy Spice with any questions.

For a third year in a row, St. Alban’s has been invited to participate in a deanery-wide celebration of the Great Vigil of Easter, hosted by and at Trinity Episcopal Church, Fort Wayne (611 W. Berry St., 46802) at

8 p.m. on Saturday, April 19th. Please join us to kick off the Easter season in this singular way!

At our Easter Day Eucharist here at St. Alban’s on Sunday, April 20th at 10 a.m. we will have our ownPaschal celebrations enhanced by celebrating the Baptism of Marcus Theodore Kite! Please join us onthis special day as we “officially” welcome Marcus into the family of God here at St. Alban’s!

QUILT FOR CAMP

We are selling raffle tickets for a Quilt to help support our Diocesan Youth Summer Camp. The quilt was made by Katie Chynoweth, from St. Paul’s in Munster; Katie is Charlie and Grayson Frede’s Godmother and a long-time camp staffer.

The quilt patches were chosen to help reflect this year’s camp theme, Yum! Come Taste & See. The tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. It is important to know that this money is going to help all youth in our Diocese and not just our youth here at St. Alban’sIf you wish to make a donation for St. Alban’s youth alone, please look for the special donation envelopes in your pewTHANK YOU!

The winning ticket will be selected at our closing ceremony for Youth Camp on Saturday June 15th. You do not need to present to win; we will make sure it gets to you if you win. You can purchase tickets through Sunday, June 2nd from Robbie Frede, Megan Spice or Cindy Spice.

Please note: our parish newsletter, “The Cross & Sword,” will re-start in September, but on a quarterly basis going forward. The publication months/dates for the newsletter will be March, June, September and December of each year. This change reflects the changing patterns of how people are receiving information; if this particular change doesn’t work, we’ll try something else!

St. Alban’s Church will celebrate our “Feast of Title” (aka St. Alban’s Day) on Sunday, June 16th at 10 a.m. with a Eucharist followed by a potluck lunch at the home of Donald and Vicki Irvine. Please see the sign-up sheet on the large bulletin board in the narthex, so you can let us know who’s coming, how many in your party and what you would like to contribute to the feast! It’s always a fun Sunday and it will have been two years since our last “off-site” celebration. Thanks to the Irvines for their hospitality!

Rescue Mission update for June: Team 2, you’re off the hook for the month….due to a scheduling conflict on the part of the Mission—they have double-booked an outside, out-of-town group on June 11th, our assistance is not needed on that day. 

Also, due again to scheduling issues in the month, the Lunch Bunch will not meet in June, but will re-convene on Tuesday, July 9th; information about the time and place to follow soon!
