CAMP NEW HAPPENINGS SUNDAY is next Sunday the 21st. Camp New Happenings is a special camp that is for children who have a parent that has been incarcerated. Most of these children would never get a chance to attend a God-centered camp like this otherwise. If you would like to donate, there are envelopes in the narthex. Please bring them in next Sunday.

ALTAR GUILD members are asked to help with the veiling of the crosses today following the second service.

SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY Today the Food Bank will be collecting canned soup for Souper Bowl Sunday. This is an annual event that really helps us fill the pantry. Any kind of soup is good. Thank you for all your support of the Food Bank.

A SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER will be held from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. this week… Pancakes, sausage, fruit, and beverages will be served. Proceeds from the free will offering will go to the Operating Fund. Please sign the poster in the narthex so we will know how much food to purchase. Join us and bring your friends!

LUNCH BUNCH will be dining at Joanna’s Family Restaurant at 10366 Leo Road, this Tuesday, at noon, followed by dessert at the home of Marilyn McClure. At that time, tentative plans will be made for the remainder of the year.

A VESTRY RETREAT will be held from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. this Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

ASH WEDNESDAY with the liturgies, with the imposition of ashes, will be held at Noon and 7:00 p.m. this week. The ashes remind us of our brokenness, sins and mortality. They are placed on our foreheads in the shape of a cross to remind us of the forgiveness granted us through the suffering and death of Christ and the gift of eternal life we have received through faith in Him as our Savior.

BISHOP LITTLE’S RETIREMENT. Please make a note that Bishop Little will be with us January 24th at both services with a special reception after each service. There is also planned a Diocesan wide retirement party for Bishop Little in South Bend on Friday February 26th. Any who purchase a ticket for this February 26th dinner may attend on a first come first serve basis. See the bulletin board for the invite on how to purchase tickets or ask Father Layden.

ONE SERVICE AT 9:00 a.m. on JANUARY 31, followed by the Annual Meeting. A BRUNCH will be held following the 9:00 a.m. service on Sunday, January 31 followed by the Annual Meeting. Please sign up on the bulletin board in the narthex so we know how many people will attend.

ANNUAL YOUTH CHRISTMAS PLAY Is tonight at 6:00 p.m. This year’s play is called “Virgil’s First Christmas.” It is filled with funny characters that will prove to be inspirational as well as hilarious. Come and join us for a dinner of breakfast items and a lot of fun. We will sell tickets after the 8:00 services and before and after the 10:15 services. Prices are $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for ages 3-10, with 2 and under free. CHRISTMAS EVE

4:00 p.m. – Holy Eucharist and Pageant. At this service our children will share with us the good tidings of great joy, the news of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

11:00 p.m. – Holy Eucharist On this solemn night in the life of the Church we gather together for a service of worship, adoration and wonder at the great love of God in sending his Son into the world to be our Savior. incense will be used at this service.

CHRISTMAS DAY – 9:00 a.m. Worship with us on Christmas Day the Babe who would exchange the wood of the manger for the wood of the cross, on which He gave his life that we might have eternal life.

ALTAR FLOWER AND SANCTUARY CANDLE CHARTS FOR 2016 are posted in the narthex. Special envelopes are found beneath the charts. Please include on the chart in the narthex the information you would like listed in the bulletin. More than one family may sign for the same Sunday. Make your check payable to St. Alban’s and place it in the offering plate. Cost of flowers is $33.00. Cost of sanctuary candles is $3.00.

GIFTS FOR LIFE Our collection for the Episcopal Relief & Development program will be ongoing through Christmas. We hope to be able to pool our resources to purchase several farm animals and/or other basic health needs that can transform the lives of some of the world’s most needy people. Envelopes for your gift are available with the poster on the bulletin board in the narthex. Any amount will help us reach our goal. If you write a check put “Gifts for Life” on the memo line.
