SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER FOR OUR ROOTS IN ENGLAND CLASS.  I am very excited for our Christian Roots in England class tonight at 6:30 p.m.  We will be blessed to be joined by Sue Wilhelm.  Sue will be presenting about the great Christian Mystic from England, St. Julian of Norwich. Sue is the director of spiritual activities at Victory Noll Retreat Center in Huntington Indiana.  She was my great guide during my process of being trained as a spiritual director. She is one of the most wonderful and spiritual people I know. I hope all may be able to join us.  “All shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.” (Julian of Norwich)

DAUGHTERS OF THE KING will meet this Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 TODAY IS EASTER. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, which we celebrate on Easter and every Sunday thereafter, assures us of forgiveness and life eternal to all who put their faith in Him.

An Easter Egg Hunt will be held after the 10:15 service.  There will be no Church School that day.

 ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 TODAY IS PALM SUNDAY, the beginning of Holy Week, when we remember the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.  During Holy Week services are held every evening.  Worship with us at the simple Eucharist services on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

 ON MAUNDY THURSDAY we gather at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate the institution of the Sacrament of Holy Communion by our Lord.  The service will include stripping of the altar.  All Altar Guild members are asked to be present.

AN ALL NIGHT WATCH before the Altar of Repose will be held following the Maundy Thursday service.  We are invited to keep watch on this night even as Jesus asked His disciples to keep watch with Him in the Garden of Gethsemane as He prayed about his impending crucifixion.  Please sign the poster in the narthex.  More than one person may sign for each segment.

ON GOOD FRIDAY the 9:00 a.m. liturgy includes communion from the Reserved Sacrament and a reading of The Passion According to St. John.  Also Stations of the Cross will be held at noon and a special service of Prayers and Songs at the foot of the Cross at 7 PM.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS this Friday evening 6pm.  Walk with Jesus down the road to Calvary on The Way of the Cross, a powerful devotional liturgy that follows Jesus through his passion and death.  At each station is a meditation, versicle response, and prayer.  Stations of the Cross is offered every Friday in Lent.

 1549 SERVICE TODAY.  In our continued effort to connect more to our Christian Roots in the Church of England, today we will celebrate Holy Communion using the Eucharistic Prayer from the first Book of Common Prayer in English.  We will also hear the readings done in the King James Version of the Bible.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 ALTAR GUILD members will meet at 11:30 am today to veil crosses following the second service.

 YOUTH GROUP will meet today at 12:00 noon.

 An OIW “fellowship” dinner will be held this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Here at the church please sign up for some fun fellowship and getting to know each other.  Everything will be furnished, just bring yourself.

 CHANGE IN DATE AND PLACE FOR LUNCH BUNCH will meet this Tuesday, February 13 at Casa Grande Mexican Grille, 6035 Stellhorn Road.  The time is 11:30 am and afterwards we will go over to Marilyn McClure’s home for dessert and decide where to gather monthly and have lunch together for the remainder of 2018.  A flyer is on the bulletin board in the narthex where you can sign up and indicate whether you would like to carpool or drive directly to the restaurant.  We especially want to invite new people to join us, too!  Please call Anita at 449-9682 if you need more information.

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER! Come and enjoy good food with great people at St. Alban’s annual pancake supper this Tuesday February 13th from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Parrish hall. Free will offering. Signup  sheet is located in the narthex. Please come even if you forget to sign up.

 ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICES will be this Wednesday, February 14 at noon and 7:00 p.mThe Imposition of Ashes will be offered at both services.

 BIBLE STUDY AND FELLOWSHIP will meet this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Jack Rademaker.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS Begins this Friday evening 6pm.  Walk with Jesus down the road to Calvary on The Way of the Cross, a powerful devotional liturgy that follows Jesus through his passion and death.  At each station is a meditation, versicle response, and prayer.  Stations of the Cross is offered every Friday in Lent.

 OUTREACH meeting on February 21st at 12:30 p.m.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 TODAY IS A BRUNCH AND THE ANNUAL MEETING  at 10:00 a.m. This meeting represents an opportunity for the parish family to review the previous year and to look ahead with our rector to the year 2018 and beyond.

 MEN’S NIGHT OUT this Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Ziffles Rib Bar located at 6430 E. State St. If you plan to attend please sign the roster on the bulletin board in the narthex.

 SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY February 4, 2018.  Please help us transform super Bowl Sunday into SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY.  Soup is a fast moving item in our Food Bank during the winter months.  Help us keep the soup shelf filled by making a special effort to bring a can or two (or three or four) to church on February 4.  Last year our goal was 110 cans of soup.  We met that plus more.  Let’s try to reach that goal again. Please note “the soups that fly off the shelves are cream of chicken/mushroom and beef/chicken broth”.
