Weekly Announcements, May 3

TODAY IS YOUTH SUNDAY We thank the youth for their participation in our service this morning.

THIS IS CHURCH CLEANING WEEK.

WORSHIP COMMISSION meets at 6:00 p.m. this Wednesday.

OUTREACH COMMISSION meets at 11:30 a.m. this Friday.

LUNCH BUNCH meets on Tuesday, May 12, at The Old Train Depot, 115 East Market Street, Pierceton, Indiana at 12:30. Car pool leaves the church at 11:30. Please sign the poster in the narthex. If you need a ride or need to cancel your reservation, contact Anita at 449-9682.

ASCENSION DAY is Thursday, May 14. Forty days after Easter our Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, an event which took place before the eyes of His disciples, in order that the truth of His ascension might be historically established for the disciples and the entire Christian church. Join us at 7:00 p.m. that evening for this major feast of the Christian Church as we worship our powerful resurrected and ascended Lord.

SPRING CLEANUP is Saturday, May 16. We need some eager helpers to make our church look beautiful on the outside, not just the inside. We need anyone who can help spread mulch, weed, seed, plant flowers, trim bushes, and have fun. This is a great opportunity to have fellowship while glorifying God by planting and caring for His beautiful gifts in nature. Please come anytime between 8 a.m. and noon to be a part of this wonderful day. The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board. Any gardening tools (shovels, rakes, wheel barrels, gloves, etc.) you can bring would be greatly appreciated. Questions can be answered by calling Chris Renner at 260-557-7804.

BISHOP LITTLE will be with us on Wednesday, May 20, to lead a workshop/presentation on how to attract and welcome new members into the church. This is a very important endeavor, for as Christians we are always called to reach out and share the love of God. So please sign the poster in the narthex and join us on May 20 at 6:00 p.m. for a potluck supper, followed by the presentation.

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME! On Friday, June 12, members of St. Alban’s will gather together at 7:05 to cheer on our TinCaps. Tickets are $10 each. Envelopes and signup sheet are on the bulletin board in the narthex. Payment must be received by May 22. Make checks payable to St. Alban’s.

DIOCESAN CAMP Special envelopes are available in the pew card holders today to raise money so that the younger children, as well as the teens, can attend camp. Cost is $405 per camper in grades 3-9 and $350 per teen in grades 9-12. Any amount would be greatly appreciated; we don’t want cost to be the reason that a child doesn’t go to camp.

DAY BY DAY devotional booklets for May through July are available in the narthex. Please take one for your personal or family devotions and take another to share with a friend.

THERE IS A BOX IN THE NARTHEX for items for the Shepherd’s House for Homeless Veterans. Requested items are new men’s T-Shirts and underwear, size med and large, and any toiletry items such as shaving cream, razors, deodorant, etc. For questions please see Norman Grams.

AN OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE On the fourth Thursday of every month we will serve dinner at the St. Vincent House at 5:30. Please call Jo McMahan at 203-2972 to be put on a regular list or just a one-time service. If you are unable to help and care to give a financial donation to the dinners, please use the outreach envelopes and mark them for Vincent House dinners.
