TODAY WE WILL BLESS THE FOOD COLLECTION. October is Hunger Action Month. Thank you for bringing in food to help those in need.

FAMILY WEINER ROAST AND CHILI COOK OFF Saturday, October 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Marilyn Rafter 3106 Marias Dr. This event is for the whole family and Beverages, wieners, hot dogs, buns, chips and s’mores will be provided. Those who wish to bring in a pot of Chili for the cook off may do so but it is not required. Please join is for Fall fun and fellowship, and please sign the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.
CHILDREN’S HOMILIES will start today and on every second Sunday of the month. Everyone always looks forward to hearing the children share where God has touched them and bring a smile to our face. The Children’s Homily will take the place of the Healing and Birthday and Anniversary blessings. If you should need special prayers that day, then please do not hesitate to tell Father Dan. He is very willing to stay after church and have special prayers with you on that second Sunday.
CELEBRATION SUNDAY OCTOBER 23, ONE SERVICE AT 9a.m. Please come and celebrate the gifts God has given us with all in the church. There will be one service this Sunday with a gathering and blessing of pledges followed by a Celebration Brunch. Please sign the sheet on the bulletin board and plan to bring in an item to share.

THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY is fast approaching. As in the past, we want to share the abundance God has so blessed us with those less fortunate. The turkey tags will be hung on the narthex doors Saturday, Oct. 22. Pick one or two tags and bring item(s) to church by Sunday, Nov. 13. As we give thanks for our blessing; thanks to you for giving these families a blessed Thanksgiving.

YOUTH will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m. All students in grades 6 to 12 are invited.

LUNCH BUNCH will meet this Tuesday at 12 Noon at the Lodge at Coyote Creek Golf Club, 4935 Hillegas Road, Fort Wayne. A car pool will leave the church at 11:30. Please look for the poster on the bulletin board in the narthex to make your reservation. We would love to have you join us! If you have any questions or find out that you need to cancel, please call Anita at 449-9682 or her cell at 341-4057.
WORK AND FAMILY GROUP RESUMES NEXT SUNDAY THE 16 AT 6 P.M. Are you stressed trying to balance work and family? Do you look for friends and fellow Christians to discuss life and God? Then please join us every third Sunday.

FOOD BANK VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are in need of one or two people who have 2 1/2 hours once a month on a regular basis to staff the Food Bank. The Food Bank hours are Wednesday and Friday 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. Many thanks to all of you who keep our pantry running in so many ways by bringing in food, giving of their time or sharing their treasures. THERE IS $2, 171.00 LEFT TO PAY OFF THE ROOF PROJECT. We are paying back the money we borrowed from our endowment fund.
