OUR FOOD PANTRY has been wonderfully staffed in the past, but due to various reasons we have lost a few people. If you have 2 1/2 hours a month to help serve those in need, please call Marilyn McClure

Vincent House will meet at 5:30 this Thursday.

CHURCH CLEANING IS SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK. Every other week the cleaning crew works to keep our Lord’s house in good order. Cleaning may be done on your own schedule any time during the week. If you would like to be responsible for cleaning a small area of the church, contact George Shamp.

DON’T MISS THIS FUN EVENT! A wiener roast and Chili Cook Off will be held at 4:30 on October 3 at the home of Marilyn Rafter. NEW COFFEE HOUR. This year we will be trying something new for coffee hour after the 10:15 service. Instead of relying on a few individuals many times, we are encouraging everyone to sign up for a few Sundays throughout the year. There is a schedule posted on the board through December. Thus if you can sign up for one Sunday between now and then that would be great. Instructions on what to do for the Sunday you sign up will be provided. If you should have any questions then please talk to Marilyn Rafter or Jane Spice.

JOHNNY APPLESEED Have you ever wanted to be a pioneer?? Then here’s your chance!! We are in need of volunteers to help at the Saint Alban’s Sizzle Chops booth this year at the Johnny Appleseed Festival! We

have a variety of shifts available both Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, as well as a small shift on Friday night, September 18 to help with set-up.

I will have a table set-up in the Narthex today immediately following the 8:15am service and both before and after the 10:15am service with sign up information.

FRIENDS IN FAITH. Friends in Faith is once again meeting on Wednesdays at 10:30am. They continue to study the lessons for the week. In the month of August there will be no Holy Eucharist after the study.

ADULTS BALANCING WORK AND FAMILY. Beginning on September 13 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and every 3rd Sunday of the month thru May we will be having a discussion group for working adults. A NEW ROOF OVER OUR HEADS Chris Renner recently made a presentation in church about a new roof over the parish hall building. As we all know we have struggled at times with leaks. We vestry has decided to find a way to repair the roof in such a way that we have no future problems. Thus, in the near future we will have a pledge campaign and replace the roof. At this time we are in the process of getting our ducks in a row with the diocese. We will keep you updated on this project when we know more.

DAVE AND MARY ANN KROCKER MARRIAGE will be blessed next Sunday. Many of you have gotten to know Dave and Mary Ann over the past year as they have become very involved as members of Saint Alban’s. Recently Dave and Mary Ann were married. This Sunday we will bless their marriage and give thanks to God for the love God has given them. The blessing will take place during the service using a form right out of the Book of Common Prayer. God bless Dave and Mary Ann.

Weekly Announcements, May 17

TODAY WE RECOGNIZE OUR GRADUATES.

Joey Fazzaro completed his high school diploma requirements in December. He is currently employed at Subway restaurant and plans to continue his education in the fall at Ivy Tech.

Emma Irvine will graduate from Carroll High School on June 7. She plans to attend IPFW and major in elementary education.

Nick Renner will graduate on June 13 from Northrop High School. He is planning to go into the Marines and is deciding on a career in the automotive field.

Megan Spice will graduate from Manchester University on May 17 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She currently works as an intern at the Bowen Center in Fort Wayne, with hopes of a job offer after graduation. Her goal is to become a Child Life Specialist, which will require a little more schooling. She is planning to pursue a Master of Social Work in the future.

TODAY is the last day of Sunday School. We thank God for providing the teachers who served faithfully this year.

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY, tempered with the sure hope of the resurrection, is extended to Tara Ruff on the recent death of her mother, Wilna McPeek. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57

OUR CHRISTIAN SYMPATHY is also extended to Michael and Debbie Grosjean (our new office administrator) on the recent death of Michael’s mother, Dorothy Grosjean. Jesus said, “I am the Resurrection and the Life; he who believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live.” John 11:25
