ANNOUNCEMENTS

 STEWARDSHIP / CELEBRATION SUNDAY IS TODAY.  If you are making a pledge to Saint Alban’s for 2017, please bring it in today or on the 29th.  You may bring your pledge card in the envelope forward and place it in the box when you come forward for Holy Communion.  We will dedicate the pledges to God and keep them near the altar where your pledge will only be known to God.  After each service will be a special reception.

 YOUTH will meet tonight at 6:30 p.m.

WEDDING THIS SATURDAY.  Megan Warner, who is LuAnn Kleinschmidt’s granddaughter, will marry Benny Saydee this Saturday October 28th.  They are a wonderful couple.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers!

 DINNER AND MOVIE SUNDAY please come and join us for a special dinner and movie night November 5TH at 6:30 P.M.  We will have a simple dinner and followed by the movie “Elizabeth the Golden Age”.  Please sign the sheet in the narthex, or e-mail Dan+.  so we know how many to prepare food for.

 YOUTH GROUP will be at 12:00 noon today.

 LUNCH BUNCH will meet this Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at Lakeside Café, 1040 N.  DIOCESAN CONVENTION this Saturday. October 14th in the morning and early afternoon the Diocese will have our annual convention in Logansport.  Please keep Father Dan, Anita Grams, John Lorenzen and Josh Miller in your prayers as they represent Saint Alban’s.  Please also keep Cindy Spice in your prayers as she serves as a clerk for the convention.

FALL COOKOUT AND WEINER ROAST this Saturday October 14th at 5:30 pm at Marilyn Rafter’s house, a fall tradition continues.  Over the past few years Marilyn has been gracious to host this event.  It is always a lot of fun to have one last good cookout in the fall.  If you would like to attend, please sign the poster which is on the board in the narthex.  Most importantly come on out and have fun!

 HELP THOSE IN NEED FROM HURRICANE HARVEY.  We have all seen the destruction down in Houston.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to them, and prayer is the most important thing.  If you would also like to help financially then I suggest two ways.  First, donate to Episcopal Relief and Development, our own national church disaster response organization at http://www.episcopalrelief.org/.  Second, there are also many reputable disaster response organizations like American Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity, our own Episcopal Relief and Development, and many more that can be found at https://www.nvoad.org/

USHERS MEETING today at 9:15 A.M.

Responsibilities of the ushers include greeting, handing out service leaflets, putting up the flags, ringing the bell, taking up the offering, and tidying up the pews after the service.  New ushers are always welcome.  All ushers are asked to attend this annual meeting.

 WE WELCOME BACK OUR CHOIR TODAY!

SUNDAY SCHOOL is back in session today.  Those attending class should meet in the Narthex each Sunday by 10:10 a.m. and youth will proceed in with the beginning procession of the service, return to the Narthex, and then continue on to Sunday school.

 YOUTH GROUP will begin today and be held every 2nd Sunday after church at noon with lunch provided, and every 4th Sunday of the month at 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.  The group is open to all youth between 6 and 12 grades.  We are very excited about our upcoming events and are looking forward to welcoming several new faces this year.  If you have any questions about our group or any activities that we have planned please see Cindy Spice or Father Dan.

 LUNCH BUNCH will be going to the Quiet Corner Tea & Coffee   Room northeast of Churubusco this Tuesday, September 12th.  Lunch is scheduled for 12:30 PM.  If you would like a ride, the carpool will leave at 11:30 AM from the church.  A flyer is located on the bulletin board in the narthex for you to sign up and indicate your preference.  It is a nice, relaxed setting in the woods.  Please come and enjoy with us!

SAFE GUARDING GOD’S CHILDREN CLASS is today at noon. If you have been contacted to attend this then please do so. It is very important we make keeping our children safe a big priority.

 ALL WORSHIP MINISTRIES MEETING: All Ushers, LEMs, Servers, Crucifers and Lectors for both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. service are asked to attend this Worship Meeting today at 11:30 a.m. Please prayerfully consider attending this meeting. SAFE GUARDING GOD’S CHILDREN CLASS will be on Sunday, August 27 at noon. If you have been contacted to attend this then please do so. It is very important we make keeping our children safe a big priority.

 THE 2017-2018 SUNDAY SCHOOL YEAR will begin on Sunday, September 10.

All youth in grades kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to attend class each week at 10:15.

Sunday school classes will be held in 2 classrooms divided by age groups.  Kindergarten-4th grade will be held in the Atrium and 5th-8th grade will be held in the classroom across from the office next to the youth group room.  The first Sunday of each month, chapel will be held in lieu of classroom time.  All Sunday school students will attend chapel. Chapel is located in the Atrium.

Those attending class should meet in the Narthex each Sunday by 10:10 a.m. and youth will proceed in with the beginning procession of the service, return to the Narthex and then continue on to Sunday school.

Teachers for Sunday school will be as follows: Kindergarten – 4th grades:  Christina Connelly, Melissa Townsend, and Janine Steinbrunner

 5th – 8th grades:  John Lorenzen, Erin Layden, and Vicki Irvine

 WE WELCOME The Rev. Betty Frolick as our celebrant and preacher today and pray for God’s blessing upon her proclamation of the Word and administering of the Sacrament. We also want to thank her for presiding over last week’s services.

FATHER LAYDEN IS ON VACATION UNTIL AUGUST 12.  Reverend Betty Frolick will Celebrate and preach today.    If you have a pastoral emergency please contact Debbie in the office at 485-8022 or Senior Warden Cindy Spice at 348-7061 and they will contact Reverend Betty or Father Tom Adamson.

 YOUTH CHOIR will meet today at 11:30 a.m.

ALL WORSHIP MINISTRIES MEETING:  All Ushers, LEMs, Servers, Crucifers and Lectors for both the 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. service are asked to attend this Worship Meeting on August 20 at 11:30 a.m.  Please prayerfully consider attending this meeting.  Our Sunday Services are the most important events in the life of our church.  As leaders of our worship, everyone needs to know the part they serve in the sanctuary and beyond.

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  There is a sign-up sheet for each Sunday, until the end of the year, on the bulletin board in the narthex.  We need two people for each Sunday.  Please sign your name next to the Sunday you want.
