St. Alban’s Cathedral,
St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England.
The Shrine of St Alban has been the focus of pilgrims for over 1700 years. The bones of England’s proto-martyr rested here until 1539. The magnificent golden box which once housed the bones, and the bones themselves, are no longer there.
Today, Christians still come to the Shrine of St Alban, to light a candle and say a prayer. They might pray for themselves, for others and for the world.
