 YOUTH GROUP meets today with “The Spirit and Scripture” Lenten Study today in the Parish hall.

 A STUDY FOR LENT called “The Spirit and Scripture” is today and every Sunday through March 18th at 12:30 p.m.  Anyone can come any Sunday.  Please join us.

 LUNCH BUNCH will meet this Tuesday, March 13th at The Green Frog Inn, located at 820 Spring Street at 12:00 Noon.  Car pool leaves the church at 11:30. Please sign the poster if you would like to attend.  If you have any questions, please contact Anita Grams.

FINANCE & PROPERTY will meet this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

 STATIONS OF THE CROSS this Friday evening 6pm.  Walk with Jesus down the road to Calvary on The Way of the Cross, a powerful devotional liturgy that follows Jesus through his passion and death.  At each station is a meditation, versicle response, and prayer.  Stations of the Cross is offered every Friday in Lent.

OUR CHRISTIAN ROOTS IN ENGLAND pilgrimage class continues Sunday evening March 18th at 6:30 PM. Please come and join us as we continue our journey learning about our Christian Roots in England. As many of you know, the youth group is undertaking a pilgrimage to London next summer. They invite you to explore with them as all are transformed learning our common heritage.

Please come and join us for a special dinner and movie night.  We will have a simple dinner followed by the movie “Shadowlands” about C.S Lewis starring Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger.

INVITING, WELCOMING, AND CONNECTING WORKSHOP Saturday March 3rd  A wonderful Diocesan event discussing new member ministries will be held on Saturday March 3rd. It is once again led by my great friend the Reverend Miles Brandon from Austin, TX.  Miles has been a tremendous servant of God, helping guide the growth of Saint Julian of Norwich in Austin Texas from a group of 12 to over 400 in a seven year period.  This workshop is Saturday March 3rd at Saint Anne’s in Warsaw. It is easy to sign up. Just go to the Diocesan website and look under “Calendar” and then “events”, click the links, follow the instructions, sign up, and then show up on that day. There is no cost.

 CHANGE IN DATE AND PLACE FOR LUNCH BUNCH will meet this Tuesday, February 13 at Casa Grande Mexican Grille, 6035 Stellhorn Road.  The time is 11:30 am and afterwards we will go over to Marilyn McClure’s home for dessert and decide where to gather monthly and have lunch together for the remainder of 2018.  A flyer is on the bulletin board in the narthex where you can sign up and indicate whether you would like to carpool or drive directly to the restaurant.  We especially want to invite new people to join us, too!  Please call Anita at 449-9682 if you need more information.

 TODAY IS A BRUNCH AND THE ANNUAL MEETING  at 10:00 a.m. This meeting represents an opportunity for the parish family to review the previous year and to look ahead with our rector to the year 2018 and beyond.

 MEN’S NIGHT OUT this Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Ziffles Rib Bar located at 6430 E. State St. If you plan to attend please sign the roster on the bulletin board in the narthex.

 SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY February 4, 2018.  Please help us transform super Bowl Sunday into SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY.  Soup is a fast moving item in our Food Bank during the winter months.  Help us keep the soup shelf filled by making a special effort to bring a can or two (or three or four) to church on February 4.  Last year our goal was 110 cans of soup.  We met that plus more.  Let’s try to reach that goal again. Please note “the soups that fly off the shelves are cream of chicken/mushroom and beef/chicken broth”.

 TRIVIA NIGHT Thanks to all who participated in the fun trivia night event. Want to especially thank Larry Dearing for being the auctioneer MC of the donated goodies. It was a great time had by all. The total collected was $327.00 and will be donated to The Shepherds House.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 YOUTH CHOIR will meet today at 11:30 a.m.

TAKING DOWN THE GREENS AND CHILI LUNCH today after 10:15 a.m. service.

THERE WILL BE EVENING PRAYER tonight at 5:30 p.m.

FINANCIAL & PROPERTY GROUP will meet this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY AND FELLOWSHIP will meet this Thursday at 2:00 – 4:00 at the home of Marilyn Rafter.

TRIVIA NIGHT:  “Come and enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship at the St Alban’s trivia and dessert auction  this Saturday, January 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the Parrish hall. The sign-up sheet in the narthex lists the tables A thru H with 8 seats per table. Each table is a team. Sign your name on the space provided for your table. Coffee/lemonade and a dessert will be provided and is included in the ticket price. Tickets are &10.00 at the door only. There is also a sign-up for anyone willing to donate their favorite dessert for the auction. All proceeds benefit The Shepherd’s House. Any questions ask Mary Ann Krocker.

NOMINATING COMMISSION has begun their work.  Those on the commission are Elaine Fazzaro, George Shamp, Norm Grams, Barb Jackson, and Jordan Trendelman.  If you have any suggestions please talk to one of them, and please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

 PLEASE NOTE:  THERE ARE STILL ENVELOPES TO BE PICKED UP..

 ALTAR FLOWER AND SANCTUARY CANDLE CHARTS FOR 2018 are posted in the narthex.  Special envelopes are found beneath the charts.  Please include on the chart in the narthex the information you would like listed in the bulletin.  More than one family may sign for the same Sunday.  Make your check payable to St. Alban ‘s and place it in the offering plate.  Cost of flowers is $35.00.  Cost of sanctuary candles is $5.00.  Further, if you would like to simply give to the flower fund and not designate any Sunday then please do so.  It would help buy flowers on open Sundays.

  HEART AND HANDS will resume this Friday at 10:00 a.m.

     ANNOUNCEMENTS

 WELCOME.  We want to welcome any and all visitors with us today.  If you would like to make yourself known to us, then please fill out a yellow card found in the pews and place it in the alms plate when that is passed.  Please also join us for fellowship after the service in the parish hall which is to your right as you exit the sanctuary.  AND REMEMBER THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH ALWAYS WELCOMES YOU!

 ANNUAL REPORTS are due in the church on Friday, January 6.  Early submissions are always appreciated.
