Weekly Announcements, September 7

ALL USHERS are asked to attend a meeting at 9:15 today. New ushers are always welcome. Responsibilities of the ushers include greeting, handing out service leaflets, putting up the flags, ringing the bell, taking up the offering, and tidying up the pews after the service.

SUNDAY SCHOOL begins today. Students and teachers will gather in the Parish Hall for snack between 10:00 and 10:10, then proceed downstairs at 10:15 for Sunday School. THE NORTHMEN, a Christian music group that has sung in 36 states and 6 foreign countries, will be here this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free, however, a free will offering will be collected to show our appreciation. If you wish to contribute by check, please make it payable to The Northmen. Refreshments will be served following the concert.

A CARRY-IN BRUNCH will be held following the 10:15 service next Sunday. Francis Mustapha will be a guest speaker at both services. Francis is a well-known retired teacher and evangelist from Fort Wayne, who started a Christian school in his childhood home of Madina, Sierra Leone, West Africa. TEACHERS NEEDED A teachers’ meeting will be held today after the 10:15 service. Anyone interested in teaching is asked to attend this meeting. A new curriculum has been chosen and we will discuss the program and the schedule. If you are able to give one Sunday a month to this ministry, you will find it very rewarding and fulfilling. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but would still like to teach or be a part of this program, please contact Kelli MacDonald at 760-7040.

ATTENTION ALL SERVERS AND CRUCIFERS There will be a training meeting after the 10:15 service today. If you are interested in becoming an acolyte, then please contact Father Layden. This is a great ministry to help praise the Lord.

THE FORT WAYNE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM continues through Thursday. It is open to all children up to 18 years of age. We serve cold lunch packs and milk from 11:30 -12:00 and have craft and game time from 12:00-12:30. Invite your neighbors. Let’s get the kids here for lunch and tell them who Jesus is and how much He loves them.

JOIN US for a cookout after the 10:15 service today to celebrate the Feast of St. Alban.

THE FORT WAYNE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM continues at St. Alban’s through July 3. It is open to all children up to 18 years of age. We will serve cold lunch packs and milk from 11:30 -12:00 and have craft and game time from 12:00-12:30. Invite your neighbors. Let’s get the kids here for lunch and tell them who Jesus is and how much He loves them.

VESTRY meets this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

FRIENDS IN FAITH will meet at 10:00 a.m. this Wednesday and next. Holy Eucharist will not be celebrated on those days.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY AND FELLOWSHIP meets at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday at the home of Marilyn McClure.

HIGH SCHOOL CAMP begins next Sunday. Emma Irvine will be attending from St. Alban’s. Please keep Emma and the camp program in your prayers.

There will be no Prayer Night in July.

SNOW REMOVAL Special envelopes for snow removal are available today. If you are able to provide some extra funds to help us cover this year’s deficit of $995 your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

FOOD BANK current needs: jelly, crackers, tomato sauce, muffin mix, jello. Please note: we currently have an abundance of macaroni and cheese, chicken noodle soup, ramen noodles and canned vegetables.

OPEN DATES for Altar Flowers are June 29 and July 27.

OPEN DATES for Sanctuary Candles are July 6, 13, 20.
