ADULT CHOIR rehearses at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays. Music enhances the act of worship and ties a congregation into the greater Church by continuing the traditions carried out by generations of Christians. The choir is entrusted with two things: to serve God in the capacity as conveyors of God’s Word through music, and to enhance the service for the faithful. Please consider joining this ministry.

MEN’S NIGHT OUT will be held this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Casa Grande Mexican Grille, 6035 Stellhorn Road. Contact Larry Sanxter at 573-2147 with any questions.

YOUTH CHOIR meets at 11:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of October and November.

CONFIRMATION CLASS For students in grades 8 and 9, or anyone older who would like to be confirmed received or reaffirm their faith, a confirmation class will be scheduled for 9:15 a.m. on the Sundays of October 5, 12 and 26, and November 2 and 9. Bishop Little’s next official visit will be February 8, 2015 when he will confirm, receive and reaffirm those from this class. THE THURSDAY NIGHT LADIES BIBLE STUDY will meet on the 2ndThursday of every month. The study beginning October 9 will be “A Walk through the Life of Elijah”. Anyone interested in enriching their faith through study and discussion is welcome to join this group which meets at the home of Marilyn McClure from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

AN OFFERING for support of the school in the village of Madina, Sierra Leone, West Africa will be accepted for the remainder of September. Please use the Outreach envelopes found in the pew card holders and on the bulletin board in the narthex to contribute, and please keep this school in your prayers. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, their vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world.

ALL USHERS are asked to attend a meeting at 9:15 today. New ushers are always welcome. Responsibilities of the ushers include greeting, handing out service leaflets, putting up the flags, ringing the bell, taking up the offering, and tidying up the pews after the service.

SUNDAY SCHOOL begins today. Students and teachers will gather in the Parish Hall for snack between 10:00 and 10:10, then proceed downstairs at 10:15 for Sunday School. There are two classrooms this year. PreK-4th grade and 5th grade – 8th grade. The children will join the congregation at the Peace.

THE JOHNNY APPLESEED FESTIVAL is coming up on September 20-21 and once again St. Alban’s will offer delicious Sizzle Chops to festival-goers! Please plan to attend the festival and help out if you can. We have jobs for parishioners of all ages and abilities. Those who are interested in helping, please plan to come to a meeting Sunday, July 27, after the 8:00 Eucharist.

FOOD BANK current needs: jelly, pancake mix, pancake syrup, crackers, muffin mix, ketchup, mustard. We currently have an abundance of macaroni and cheese, chicken noodle soup, ramen noodles and canned vegetables.

FR, LAYDEN will be the chaplain for Camp New Happenings this week. This is a camp for children who have had a parent incarcerated. He will help with the program and to help with spiritual matters. Please keep the children, staff, and Fr. Layden in your prayers.

FINANCE AND PROPERTY commissions meet at 6:00 p.m. this Tuesday.

FRIENDS IN FAITH will resume their meetings at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at noon.
